Airfloat systems & products range from air bearing airskids (air skates, air casters) to fully-automated conveyor systems and moving assembly lines.

Gold Boeing Performance Excellence Award
Decatur, IL. February 10th, 2010

Airfloat, LLC announced today that it has received a 2009 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance.

Airfloat, LLC maintained a Gold composite performance rating for each month of the 12-month performance period, from Oct. 1, 2008, to Sept. 30, 2009.

This year, Boeing recognized 486 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. Airfloat is one of only 128 suppliers to receive the Gold level of recognition.

Airfloat Solution Saves Floor Space, Speeds Workflow

Watch how this parts bin tote is placed by forklift on the Airfloat Over-Under with Tilt. Then the bin is positioned and tilted for the ergonomic benefit of production workers. Forklift movement is clear of work station, for improved worker safety and better forklift utilization. The over-under function permits removal of the first tote and placement of the next tote at the convenience of the workers at the workstation, who don't have to wait for a forklift to swap out the totes.

This Airfloat solution speeds workflow in several ways. Workers using the tote have the benefit of correct ergonomic positioning, which minimizes worker movement and reduces the risk of strains or injuries. Floor space in the immediate vicinity of the workstation is very valuable; the space-saving of this Airfloat solution saves space by correctly positioning the tote and eliminating the space requirement for forklift maneuvering in the immediate workstation work area. The risk of forklift accidents and worker injury is reduced. Forklift utilization is improved, as the totes can be positioned by the workstation as needed, without waiting for a forklift.
