APPLICATION:
When a locomotive manufacturer needed to increase manufacturing capabilities, their only option appeared to be a costly plant addition coupled with a re-configuration of the current facility.

SOLUTION:
By adopting Airfloat custom air skid solutions, the assembly plant changed from stationary work stations to a process that moves the locomotive from one work station to another. By placing air skids on either end of the locomotive, the assembly process was quickly transitioned, increasing production from 17 to 22 locomotives per month – a 29% gain in output.
